The Pride of Buffalo: J6er Thomas Sibick back in Jail

 Well, almost Buffalo.  Thomas Sibick resides in the nearby to Buffalo town of Amherst.  Sounds like he went over to a woman's home and there was a dispute that resulted in damaged cellphone.  No too bad, except the woman had a protective order against Mr. Sibick, resulting in a misdemeanor.  The misdeamor turned into 3 felony weapons charges a few days later.  Mr Sibick had served time for his role in the riot on January 6th in the Capitol, until his release following his pardon.  He had pled guilty to stealing the radio and badge of a Capitol Police Officer who had been beaten.  The badge was recovered underground in Mr. Sibick's backyard.  He did not offer the classic "my dog found it and buried it" defense.  He has been in jail now since June on his new charges, when 3 assault style loaded rifles were found in his home.

Update: he has pled guilty. He gets sentenced 11/17, right before Thanksgiving.  The max is 7 years in the can.

And then there were none...

 A Federal Judge - Amit Mehta - the one who sentenced Peter Navarro to 4 months in the can and has presided over cases such as the google antitrust case - has reluctantly dropped the Seditious Conspiracy case against Stewart Rhodes, the Oath Keeper who managed to do what Ralphie Parker could not. We shall play a solemn hymn and bow our heads.

The oddest thing about looking up this info was learning that Amit is a huge hip-hop fan and even noted as much in the footnotes of a case that was about two songs being just a little too similar.

The Anti-weaponization Fund 47 still defending

 While simultaneously trying unsuccessfully to prosecute someone for dipping their hand into a The Reflecting Pool: even sycophant Jeanine Pirro recognized the insanity, our President is still defending a slush fund geared towards paying people who assaulted police officers and were subsequently pardoned for their inconvenience.  The president himself said and yes, this is an actual quote: "Perhaps there has never been a group of people treated so badly in our Nation's history." I'm no historian, but I seem to remember Slavery, internment camps for Japanese Americans and Italian Americans and multiple other examples that anyone who take history through the 8th Grade and paid attention approximately 30% of the time or more could rattle off the top of their head.  All this of course, while also acknowledging that the fund is indeed dead.

I really, really want to ask AI to write a poem tying in the irony of the Reflecting Pool nonsense with our current Presidents narcissism and the Greek story and the whole slush fund. With music from The Anti-Nowhere League backing, of course.

Peter Navarro Privileged, just Not Part of Executive Privilege

 This may get appealed to the Supreme Court, but your boy Peter Navarro's conviction for refusing to appear due to a subpoena was upheld in another ruling. I hear he has subpoenas envy.  He doesn't want to anser questions under oath about the whole January 6th riot and ensuing mess. He allegedly was the "mastermind" behind the plan to not certify Joe Biden's electoral victory.  He's already served his time of 4 months but he wants the conviction for contempt of congress overturned.  They should really re-name contempt of congress: plenty of folks find Congress contemptible.

J6 Cost 2.7Billion: Report

 You know how it's in vogue to say "no money for xxxxx cause until every homeless veteran is taken care of"?  How about we apply that same logic to J6er payouts: they have cost the good ole American taxpayer 2.7 Billion in damages to the grounds, additional law enforcement costs and costs for investigations.  Of course the balloon heads would have you believe that there was no need for an investigation into the riot of January 6th.  Divide 2.7 Billion by 1,270 or 1,600 or whatever number you want for those involved, and you get a pretty big number.  Much more than the typical $1000, give or take, that the average j6er got in a fine.  But they want restitution now.

Sad.

Forget the Proud Boys, let's investigate the NY Times and Georgia

This is confusing, but some of the Proud Boys had their sentences for seditious conspiracy dismissed. The executive branch decides who to prosecute, not the judges.

To understand what just happened with the Proud Boys convictions being tossed out, you have to look at it through the lens of pure, unadulterated American institutional mechanics. It is a story about the separation of powers, where the gears of the Constitution ground together, made a terrible screeching noise, and did exactly what they were designed to do even if it left the presiding judge looking like he’d just farted audibly in church when he thought he was just releasing a silent one.

 In the grand tradition of government machinery, the system worked exactly as written, even if the result feels entirely surreal. The executive branch used its constitutional muscle to decide a crime wasn’t a crime anymore, and the judiciary was forced to nod, tip its hat, and go back to its chambers to write a sternly worded essay about the fragility of democracy.

 As Judge Kelly darkly noted, if the American experiment is going to last another 250 years, the people not the courts are going to have to be the ones to defend it. Because when the Justice Department decides to walk away from a fight, the judge is just a man in a black robe holding a useless gavel.

 Not to mention, the FBI has far bigger fish to fry like the failing NY Times, the Reflecting Pool and Georgia Voting in November 2020. I'm sure they'll find their Alger Hiss at some minute scale. Not enough to have impacted anything, but enough to convince those who need only the slightest of convincing.

 

Pipe Bomber not part of J6 Pardons

 Come on, planting a few bombs outside the democratic and republican headquarters doesn't qualify one for the sweeping J6 pardons, they are reserved for people who stormed the Capitol looking for Mike Pence!  And assaulted police officers along the way with bear mace and various objects.  And of course defecated in the Capitol and tried to subvert democracy.  But the line is clear: not for the pipe bomber. There are rules here, people!  And we have ethics!  

Apparently Cole fell prey to the conspiracy theories of a stolen election, which of course the President sowed. 

I wonder if there is a parallel universe where the J6ers go into the reflecting pool and clean it dailt of algae blooms instead to maintain its beauty rather than riot in the Capitol.
